Guestbook for Roger H Blackwood Showing 1 - 9 of 9 entries.

Roger was a great neighbor and we enjoyed an occasional coffee or outing. It was nice seeing him pass by every day. He will be missed greatly.

Roger was a sweet man and a good man who will be missed. We all enjoyed working with him over the years.

I spent seven years growing up across the street from Roger in Charnwood Hills, a wonderful spot, which he developed and where he lived for more than 50 years. I always thougt, and told him once, that he should have been a vainer man and called it Blackwood Hills. A fine fellow.

Roger was a long-time member of Forest Lake Country Club and I had the privilege of playing golf with Roger many times over the 34 years that I knew Roger. He was a very good golfer. I also fondly remember the many times Roger and I both played in our FLCC Men's Invitational, we made a few bets from time to time and each of us enjoyed the comarade and competition. In all those years, I don't recall ever seeing Roger in a bad mood -- he was always a gentleman, optimistic and fun to be around. Even in the last few years as Roger was in poorer health, he was still similing and I looked forward to talking to him. I will miss him greatly.

What a priviledge it was to meet Roger on a handful of occassions. Charming, kind, warm, down-to-earth, so loveable and energetic. A real gentleman. Cheers to a life filled with love, great leadership, civic engagement and passion. A model human being!

Mr. Blackwood came into the Baldwin Public Library frequently, always looking for a good mystery. Helping him was a joy and he will be missed.

The family has many reasons to be proud of Roger. I thoroughly enjoyed his counsel and friendship, partcularly through my years as Troy's Planning Director (1968 - 2001).

Roger Blackwood was one of those rare individuals who never failed to see the positive side of every person and situation. His eternal optimism was contagious, and his joyful smile infectious. And he demonstrated that high integrity in business is its own reward. Although all generations are "great" in certain ways, Roger truly was a great representative of his, "the greatest generation." His uplifting generous spirit will live on through his friends and family, and through the ages.

Thank you for so many treasured memories full of fun and family. You will be missed deeply! I am sorry we never made the opportunity for you to meet your look alike great grandson, Ryan Scott. Every day he is a reminder of you and how precious life really is.
Thank you for showing me how wonderful life can be with a soulmate, I don't know how much more perfect two people could complement each other. Thank you for blessing me with a wonderful mom (Nancy), an amazing aunt (Sally), an a cuddly uncle (Roger). Your legacy lives on. Thank you!
Love Jessie
