Paul Barbour, 93, died March 4, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Nell, his sister Julia Inloes, and brother Joseph Barbara. He is survived by his children, William (Nancy), Peter (Maureen), Elizabeth Collins (Gerald), and Matthew, his sister Melita Lieblang, and many nieces and nephews. Paul was born June 14, 1916 in Malta, and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1928. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. After his discharge, he wrote professionally for the Jim Handy, Ross Roy, and General Motors companies. He was a devoted father, loving husband, caring friend, and patient teacher who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will take place Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. at the Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church, 17150 Maumee Avenue, Grosse Pointe, MI. Donations to the Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church Memorial Fund, or the charity of your choice.
